Afro-Asian Poetics, Music, and Solidarity: Closing Celebration

Join us in our closing celebrations for the Afro-Asian Poetic Pantry at the MoCADA Abolition House.
This closing celebration will feature poetry, sharings, and a featured musical performance by Dennica Pearl honoring Afro-Asian solidarity work through installations created through The Bandung Residency.

About the Exhibits on View:
The Afro-Asian Poetic Pantry is a dynamic installation that melds poetry, literature, media art, food, and participation, all aimed at healing, remembering, and forging renewed bonds of community and solidarity between Black and Asian communities.
Also on view at the Abolition House is Presence by Malaika Temba & Sunnie Liu, a dynamic two-channel video installation reflecting the anonymous responses of Harlem and Chinatown communities against the proposed new jails, fostering interwoven struggles, liberation, and abolitionist reimaginings.
